Purpose of Job

The Associate, Communications and Knowledge-sharing Coordinator is part of the Impact department and plays a role in implementing the Bank’s mandate to promote transition in the EBRD’s countries of operations (COOs). Working in close cooperation with colleagues in Impact, VP3 and beyond, the post holder supports all aspects related to the development, implementation and dissemination of communication, knowledge and learning products for Impact & Partnerships departments and VP3 more broadly.

The post holder assists in facilitating joined-up, effective and efficient delivery of knowledge and communication products by VP3 for both internal and external stakeholders, thereby contributing to maximising the impact of the Bank’s activities (incl. EBRD’s policy work).

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Planning and facilitating delivery of new VP3 capacity building and training programmes
  • Supporting implementation of existing external facing knowledge/learning products (Policy Academy/Learning for Impact)
  • Assisting VP3 experts in CSD and PSD in maintaining and improving existing training programmes
  • Planning and coordinating communication, dissemination and outreach activities for VP3 (incl. events, ebrd.com, Bank intranet, social media, newsletters etc)
  • Assisting and facilitating VP3 experts liaison with Communications and other departments (HR, Monarch, CTO etc) in relation to their learning, knowledge and communication products
  • Assisting with development and dissemination of new knowledge management platforms (lessons, impact portal)
  • Assisting Impact and broader VP3 efforts in rolling out communication strategy, internal events and initiatives and management of documents and information
  • Ad-hoc assignments and tasks, including background research, drafting of briefings, presentations, and short impact related analyses

Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • A postgraduate degree in economics or a related filed from a leading university (relevant work experience and a strong Bachelor’s degree may be considered in exceptional cases);
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English at the standard required for a professional publication, official documents and official representation.
  • Prior experience and strong professional skills in knowledge sharing and communication activities. Previous experience in this area within EBRD or another MDB is an advantage
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the area of development finance, impact management, knowledge management and/or policy
  • Strong and demonstrated programme management skills
  • Proven and strong analytical and quantitative skills, including knowledge of Excel.
  • A positive attitude to problem solving, identifying solutions and finding ways to overcome obstacles, if need be through compromise and consensus building.
  • Familiarity with the EBRD region of operations and work or study experience in the region is an advantage;
  • Knowledge of one or more languages of the region is an advantage.
