Plan started working in Egypt in 1981 and has a presence in ten of the 27 governorates in which the country including Cairo, Alexandria, Giza, Beheira, Kalyoubia, Damietta, Qena, Assuit and Sohag. Plan international Egypt implements programmes designed to enable communities to improve the lives of the most marginalised children and their families. Plan Egypt’s Country Strategy focuses on five strategic objectives.

Through a five-interconnected, gender transformative and context-fit country objectives, PIE intends along with the various stakeholders at all levels to continue delivering positive and transformative changes so that “Children, especially girls, and young people grow up in an enabling environment, realizing their rights and contributing in both development and humanitarian settings as active agents of change”.

Purpose

The purpose of the role is to provide technical support to in managing all Plan Egypt grants from the design through implementation and to the grant close out

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare grants financial reports to ensure that management and donors receive the needed data with the required quality standards in line with Plan policies and guidelines.
  • Contribute in the management reports and Quarterly Reports
  • Financially monitor the implementation of the follow-up actions to address audit recommendations.
  • Provide on-job & classic trainings, technical support for Plan Partners.
  • Maintain transparent detailed reporting systems to enable colleagues, Plan Management and external parties to understand the relevant budgets.
  • Contribute in developing plans for building the capacity of project all partners.
  • Provide technical support to Plan staff and conduct training sessions on grant compliance and the regulations of complex donors.
  • On a monthly basis prepare program accounting spreadsheet for assigned grants.
  • Ensure all costs associated with grant are properly recorded and all costs charged against the grant are appropriate and adjust as necessary.
  • Review all process of any project requests related to program unit to ensure budget availability and alignment with Plan financial policies and procedures.
  • Review and process pay requests from project all partners in line with Plan/ donor’s guidelines and policies.
  • Monitor the advance payments and settlements for all partners.
  • Record all transactions related to national partners at CO level into the financial system SAP.
  • Through a monitoring mechanism to ensure all of the projects expenditures are made in accordance with Plan policies & procedures.
  • Communicate timely and professionally with Donor’s and National organisations.
  • Support program teams in grants setup on ERP.
  • Support in mapping Plan International codes with donors’ codes
  • Track changes in grant budgets to ensure consistency between different ERP modules.
  • Contribute to grants preparations; start up workshops, processes and agreements.
  • Doing regular monitoring to the grant currency and revaluate the CGI to track the currency fluctuations
  • Confirm salary allocations and general and management charges to each grant on a monthly basis. Ensure both follow budget and grant funding parameters.
  • Contribute in the annual budget preparation for Plan Egypt and tracking the regular updates on grant budget information
  • Support cost recovery process to ensure proper application of Plan Egypt Cost Recovery policy.
  • Contribute in develop plans for building the capacity of all Plan Egypt partners
