The Travel Assistant is located within the Executive Office of the United Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission/Host country and works under the supervision of the Executive Officer. The job holder is the focal point for all travel-related businesses, responsible for providing a full range of travel services for the Mission personnel including developing and monitoring the Mission's travel budget; organizing and coordinating and arranging official and assignment travel and transportation and accommodations for Mission personnel, dependents, and official visitors. The job holder serves as a subject matter expert on USG travel rules, policy, guidance and operational assistance covering all aspects of travel including changes that may affect staff travel. Travel services provided by the job holder include working in the USG travel electronic system (E2), serving as a travel arranger and approver, responding to all questions on travel and transportation for both Entitlement and Open Authorization (OA) travel for Mission personnel; keeping abreast of changes in travel policy, regulations, and procedure; ensuring timely and effective communication and training in keeping mission personnel updated and aware of changes; maintaining the travel tracker; and generating travel report.
