Result of Service
The ultimate result of service is a feasible proposal for a sustainable project to be implemented in the school, submitted for approval by the SDG Stories team.

Duties and Responsibilities
Background: The SDG Stories Team was established by ESCWA’s Executive Secretary to mainstream the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) among young persons in the Arab region by using the “ESCWA Stories” comic book as an educational tool. Against this background, SDGs Advocates and Development Project Coordinators are needed to help conduct a training of trainers (ToT) in schools in Lebanon, based on the “ESCWA stories” book. Duties and Responsibilities: • Participate in training sessions on the 2030 Agenda and SDGs, with a special focus on SDG 4.2, in preparation to train other teachers. • Train teachers on using the “ESCWA stories” comic book (volume I, II, III and IV) as an educational tool to raise the awareness of students on the work of the United Nations and SDGs. • Start a cooperative process between students and other SDGs Advocates to develop a proposal for a sustainable development project to be implemented at the school. • Supervise the implementation of the sustainable project, in close coordination with the ESCWA Stories Team.
Qualifications/special skills
For this position, a high-school diploma (or any higher degree) is required. All candidates must submit a copy of the required educational degree. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. A minimum of 1 year of teaching experience is required.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat; and Arabic is a working language of ESCWA. For this position, fluency in Arabic is required. Note: “Fluency” equals a rating of ‘fluent’ in all four areas (speak, read, write, and understand) and “Knowledge of” equals a rating of ‘confident’ in two of the four areas.

Recruitment for this position is on a local basis. The incumbent is required to have the legal right to live and work in the specified working location.
