About this position:

The Office of Evaluation and Oversight (OVE) is an independent office that reports directly to the Boards of IDB and IDB Invest. OVE undertakes independent and systematic evaluations of the IDB Group’s strategies, policies, programs, activities, delivery support functions and systems. It disseminates findings of the evaluations so that recommendations for improvement can be used in the design, appraisal, and execution of new operations, providing oversight and support for the enhancement of the effectiveness of the IDB Group’s evaluation system. The Evaluation Support Consultant is expected to work closely with all OVE staff to support the preparation of OVE’s evaluations and oversight studies and in close collaboration with other members of the administrative team.

What you’ll do:

The key responsibilities will be to assist and support a selected number of OVE evaluation teams in all stages of evaluation preparation, including:

  • Serve as the main support officer to your assigned evaluation teams, including close support to the evaluation team leaders.
  • Ensure all the evaluation support processes up to presentation to the Boards of IDB Group are completed on time and with high standards of quality.
  • Data gathering using IDB’s and IIC’s information systems when necessary.
  • Document preparation and formatting, including tables, graphs, and presentations.
  • Conduct document research, organize, gather, and file pertinent documents, ensure proper translation procedures are followed, and assist with formatting documents.
  • Organization of team and mission meeting agendas, videoconferences, and other communications.
  • Support the evaluation team leader with monitoring timelines, and deliverables.
  • Maintaining evaluation-related documents.
  • Provide staff and consultant travel arrangements support using the Bank systems.
  • Support the evaluations team in the organization of missions to the region, including setting up interviews and liaising with various points of contact.
  • On occasion, serve as backup to the front office and as Executive Assistant to the OVE Director.
  • Assist the Resource Planning and Administration Senior Specialist with other tasks as required.

What you’ll need:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in economics, public policy, tourism, public relations, or a similar field. A Master’s degree would be a plus.
  • Experience: A minimum of four (4) years of combined experience in Evaluation, Research, Event Production/Organization, Public Relations. The ideal candidate would have worked in evaluation/research organizing outreach and stakeholder engagement events. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a requirement. Must be detailed oriented and highly organized.
  • Languages: Proficiency in English. Knowledge of at least one more Bank language (Spanish, Portuguese, or French) would be a plus.
