Role and responsibilities
Camp Focal Point is a member of NRC’s Site Management Team in Rakhine State that provides direct site management services to Thae Chaung camp as well as capacity building and coaching committees in the camps. They will also reach out to IDPs living outside camps and the host community.
The following is a brief description of the role.
Generic responsibilities
Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
Assist with the implementation of the Site Management portfolio according to the plan of action
Conduct site management field activities independently according to the work plan and targets
Prepare and develop camp context situation analysis reports weekly basis
Manage, monitor and support camp-based team for the daily assignments
Ensure proper filing of the project supporting documents at camp offices and using Microsoft Office 365
Promote and share ideas for improvement of the site management response
Contribute to the fulfilment of the aims and objectives for NRC’s presence in Myanmar.
Carry out duties with respect to NRC Mission Statement, Values, Code of Conduct, standards of accountability, policy guidelines and handbooks
Specific responsibilities
Camp Management Technical Assistant – Camp Focal Point (camp-based) will be expected to perform the following tasks:
Oversee daily activities of the Community Mobilisers in each camp
Provide clear updates and report to the Camp Management Officer (Field Operation)
Oversee service monitoring, distributions, and interactions with Camp Committees and Community groups
Manage the Complaints & Feedback Mechanism at a field level; ensuring confidentiality and informed consent are adhered to oversee the responsible Community Mobilizers
Lead on shelter monitoring & damage assessments as well as coordinate relevant repairs and reconstruction
Oversee identification of PSNs and material support
Oversee daily implementation of monitoring & assessments
Lead on camp-level coordination with camp-based staff from other service providers
Facilitate translation for meetings, focus group discussions, and training
Maintain and build up good relations with stakeholders, CMCs, service providers, etc. and the communities in the camps
Lead implementation of the rapid needs assessments, outcome monitoring and post-distribution monitoring exercise
Submit context analysis report to Camp Management Officer (Field Operation) which comprises updates of service provisions, contextual changes and challenges
Oversee and conduct regular shelter monitoring – in order to identify shelter and infrastructure needs and gaps in the camps
Plan and manage distributions of NFIs either for blanket population or specifically to PSNs in line with distribution SOP
Prepare contextualized training materials and conduct training for community members and camp-based workers
Participate in any other activities as needed upon Line Manager Guidance
Critical interfaces
Liaise with other NRC core competencies in order to maximize synergy/complementarity of field activities
Co-facilitation of community meetings and activities
Joint meetings with host community and IDPs outside camps
Support departments in NRC (e.g. Finance, Admin, HR, Logistics)

Relevant academic background [college level]
Experience from working in development or humanitarian /recovery context
Experience from doing community mobilization and training required
Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
Context related skills, knowledge and experience:
S/He should be good in English and fluent in Rakhine, and Myanmar languages. Some skills in local/Muslim language an advantage.
Experience from working in an insecure environment
Ability to travel in rural areas
Ability to work in a cross-cultural setting
Willingness to learn and adapt to the fast – changing field dynamics
