For every child, Opportunity

To the degree that any child has an unequal chance in life — in its social, political, economic, civic and cultural dimensions — her or his rights are violated. In this context, and as part of its new national program 2024-2028, UNICEF Brazil has strengthened the strategies and actions of its Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) program, from the perspective of the human right to water and sanitation and considering an approach around three central pillars:  WASH for indigenous and traditional peoples;  WASH in schools, with a strong emphasis on menstrual health and hygiene and support to small municipalities for planning and governance of WASH services

How can you make a difference?

The WASH Officer reports to the Chief of WASH/CEED in Brasilia and in coordination with the Manaus Chief Field Office. S/he will provide professional technical, operational, and administrative assistance throughout the WASH programming process, through the application of theoretical and practical technical skills in researching, collecting, analyzing, and presenting programme information while learning organizational rules, regulations, and procedures to support the development, implementation, and monitoring of the WASH output results of the Country Programme.

The support provided by the WASH officer will enable the achievement of the WASH-related outputs of the national program. This, in turn, will contribute to the achievement of the outcomes of the national program document. When done effectively, the achievement of the output outcomes will improve child survival, growth and development and reduce inequalities in the country.
