The Ethics Office, under the leadership of the Ethics Advisor, contributes to the good governance of the Fund and assists the organization in maintaining high ethical standards of conduct and the reputation of the Fund and its employees for probity, integrity, and impartiality. The Ethics Office promotes awareness of ethics issues among, and provides advice and guidance, training, and education on ethics for Fund employees.
The Ethics Office’s responsibilities include (a) the provision of advice to management and the Human Resources Department (HRD) regarding the promotion of ethical standards within the Fund; (b) the provision of information, education, and training for Fund employees; and (c) the provision of advice and guidance to managers, staff members, contractual employees, and vendor personnel on questions pertaining to the rules conduct. The Ethics Office issues an annual report, to be made available to all Fund employees and members of the public, specifying the number and general nature of matters brought to its attention and describing the outcome of its work over the prior twelve-month period.
Under the supervision of the Ethics Advisor, the selected candidate will support and, to the extent appropriate, participate in, the ongoing activities of the Ethics Office, with a particular emphasis on (1) drafting Ethics advice and guidance on routine topics such as external activities and/or (2) developing process optimization options, including the use of AI tools, for the provision of Ethics advice and guidance on such routine topics (3) other projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
The selected candidate is expected to have an advanced university degree in law, employee relations, organizational development, organizational psychology, information technology or a related field of study, or a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
Technical/functional competencies:
This is a six-month medium-term contractual appointment. Contractual appointments at the IMF are renewable for up to four years of cumulative contractual service, pending incumbent’s performance, budget availability, and continuous business need.
