The International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP-UNESCO) is a UNESCO specialized institute with Offices in Buenos Aires, Dakar, and Paris. Under the overall authority of the IIEP Director and of the Head of the IIEP Dakar Office, and under the direct supervision of the Programme Manager/Training Officer at IIEP Dakar, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the effective implementation of activities and projects related to the design, development, management, administration, delivery, monitoring, and evaluation of IIEP Dakar’s training courses and learning solutions.
a. Work in cooperation with programme coordinators and content experts in the (re)design of highly engaging training courses and solutions, based on the analysis of participants’ profiles, their learning needs and contexts, and following IIEP’s standards.
b. Work with programme coordinators and content experts to select effective pedagogy, tutoring and assessment strategies to meet course objectives and ensure consistency of the IIEP- UNESCO credentialling system.
c. Work with programme coordinators and content experts in the development of training contents, materials and resources, including multimedia resources (videos, interactive presentations, podcasts, tutorials, online documents etc.) and assessment activities.
d. Support the effective coordination with each course team, including content experts, graphic designers, multimedia resource experts, other members from the Training Unit and staff from other IIEP-UNESCO Units.
e. Support and facilitate the selections of participants and work with programme coordinators and content experts in the delivery and tutoring of training courses, projects and learning solutions.
f. Support the organization and administration of training courses, projects and learning solutions.
g. Facilitate participants learning (follow-up participants’ use of the platform, learning achievements and identify effective tutoring strategies to ensure course completion).
h. Support the monitoring and evaluation of training courses, projects and learning solutions:
i. Develop and deploy tools to monitor implementation and evaluate training courses, projects and learning solutions, in particular surveys with participants and their employers.
ii. Participate in the analysis of and reporting on data collected during the evaluation of training courses, projects and learning solutions.
iii. Based on evaluation results, provide feedback and suggest improvements of future editions and to enhance the quality of IIEP’s training.
iv. Support the implementation changes to content and materials to enhance quality of training programmes.
Education
• Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in learning design and development, education & technology, adult learning.
Work Experience
• Minimum two years of relevant professional experience in the field of learning design of on-line or hybrid courses, of which preferably one year acquired at international level.
• Experience in the design, development, delivery and evaluation of online and F2F training for adults.
• Demonstrated experience in the management of the Moodle learning management system.
Skills and competencies
• Excellent knowledge of theories and learning design approaches in adult education and training in the context of developing countries.
• Demonstrable skills of developing training material.
• Ability to work effectively with content experts, coordinators and course teams.
• Effective coordination of training courses throughout their lifecycle.
• Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation tools to improve the quality of training programmes.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Ability to use of authoring tools, such as Articulate Storyline or similar tools, as well as video and audio editing software.
• Creativity and innovation to identify new ideas and tools to solve problems to meet learners and instructors’ needs.
• Ability to undertake regular missions, especially in diverse and challenging contexts.
• Initiative and ability to learn quickly in the post.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work with multicultural teams.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
Languages
• Excellent knowledge of French and very good knowledge of English.

UNESCO’s salaries consist of a basic salary and other benefits which may include if applicable: 30 days annual leave, family allowance, medical insurance, pension plan etc.
The approximate annual starting salary for this post is 72, 845 US $.
