BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
Under the direct supervision of the Head of TEC, the Foundational ICT Lead will support the implementation, supervision and standardization of IT operations activities and technologies for the WFP country office in Haiti. S/he will lead a small team and making sure that the staff has the right skills and capabilities to perform their tasks.
S/he will provide standardized documentation as required, including documentation for day-to-day activities, new projects and ongoing implementations.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/ RESPONSABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
• Monitor, maintain and develop the existing IT network infrastructure, optimizing the available re-sources for users’ needs.
• Follow up and support to IT activities in Haiti office and liaise with HQ in Rome when needed.
• Implement and test new hardware for improving and upgrading the IT infrastructure in the country.
• Lead and motivate a small team, monitoring performance, providing coaching, training and guidance to ensure appropriate development and enable high performance
• Contribute to the capability building of staff through the review and/or design of appropriate training programs aimed at developing skills/knowledge in IT and Telecommunications.
• Interact effectively with internal colleagues and user groups to understand their needs and provide appropriate technical support.
• Liaise with external stakeholders, providers, suppliers for IT activities, budgets and costs, contracts.
• Provide tutorials, guides, SOP, best practices, and other documentation needed for TEC activities in HTCO.
• Provide up-to-date documentation and backups for configurations of network devices.
• Revise all TOR for existing and new TEC staff contracts in HTCO.
• Provide technical documentation and remote support for new projects.
• Ensure that all activities comply to WFP standards and existing policies.
• Manage the IT Operations activities when the Head of TEC is not in the office
• Any other IT task that may be needed to support the Haiti office
