Organizational Setting and Reporting Relationship

The position is assigned to the Financial Reporting and Control Section (CTAC-FRC), Accounting Division (CTAC) within the Controller’s Department.

You will be based at our Headquarters in Manila, Philippines.

You will report to the designated International Staff and senior National Staff.

Your Role

As an Associate Financial Control Analyst, you will: work with the climate-related disclosures team to (i) coordinate team and committee meetings; (ii) maintain action lists and issues logs; (iii) craft presentations and draft technical documents; (iv) facilitate consultant recruitment through ADB’s Consultant Management System; and (v) conduct climate-disclosure-related accounting research.

You will:

  • Coordinate regular team and project/steering committee meetings and produce meeting minutes to document discussions and action items.
  • Monitor actions lists and issues logs for completion and issuing reminders.
  • Assist in project steering committee and project committee activities including preparing basic presentations, drafting memos, emails, and other correspondence.
  • Support consultant recruitment in ADB’s Consultant Management System and oversee consultant contract management and billing.
  • Conduct basic climate-disclosure related accounting policy and disclosure research.
  • Collect relevant information for benchmarking practices and trends among peer institutions and other relevant organizations.
  • Provide required information following established procedures.
  • Perform other duties that might be assigned as reflected in the incumbent’s workplan.

Qualifications

You will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, major in Accounting/Finance, with Certified Public Accountant designation.
  • At least 5 years of work experience in accounting.
  • Proficiency in standard software used in multilateral institutions, MS Excel and MS Word, and in-depth knowledge of a large accounting system (e.g., Oracle ERP) and its interfaces with other systems and work areas.
  • Proficient understanding of accounting practices and general policies, procedures, guidelines, and reporting requirements prevalent in a multilateral institution.
  • In-depth understanding of the interactions between a multilateral institution’s different work areas and workflows and their purpose, and business knowledge of relevant areas to identify accounting concepts to be applied.
  • Analytical and systematic abilities with strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
  • Solid understanding of the general accounting concepts and principles, and the application thereof, over financial reporting and disclosures.
  • Ability to collaborate with teams as a constructive team member.
  • Written and verbal proficiency in English.
