JOB DESCRIPTION

These strategic locations have allowed NRC greater reach from the north and south parts of the North-East and North Central region and allowed NRC to contribute to bridging the gap between humanitarian aid and development cooperation, including by focusing on equitable access to basic services and strengthening the rights of displaced people and returnees. In addition to the Country Office and the above-mentioned Area Offices, NRC has sub-office structures in Dikwa, Monguno, Biu, Mubi, Pulka, and Gwoza.

If you are those people, the Norwegian Refugee Council in Nigeria is looking for an enthusiastic, passionate Finance Technical Assistant-Archivist to join our team in Yola, Adamawa State.

Role and responsibilities 

Archiving and Documentation Management: 

  • Collect and control existing physical and electronic archives within the Finance Department.
  • Maintain the filing of monthly accounting vouchers, journals, spreadsheets, and other finance-related
  • documents.
  • Assist the Finance team in organizing, categorizing, and managing both physical and electronic
  • records.
  • Assist in verifying, codifying, classifying, and searching for documents as part of the archives
  • management process.
  • Manage the archiving of electronic documents such as Rental Agreements, Consultancy Agreements,
  • and other important finance documents.
  • Organize and classify new documentation that has not yet been archived, both in physical and digital formats.
  • Develop and maintain inventory and codification systems for archived documents to facilitate easy
  • retrieval and reference.
  • Ensure the protection and preservation of archived documents for future dissemination.

Financial Assistance: 

  • Assist with maintaining accurate paper records of all financial documents.
  • Support daily operations by processing deposit bank transfer letters and verifying bank withdrawals.
  • Update the bank log daily with payment records.
  • Provide support with petty cash management and ensure proper documentation of all transactions.
  • Assist with financial transaction accounting, including entering data in the Agresso financial
  • management system.
  • Perform other related finance tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Audit Support: 

  • Support the preparation of documents for statutory, internal, and donor audits.
  • ssist in organizing and locating relevant financial documents requested by auditors.
  • Liaise with auditors for clarifications or additional information as needed.
  • Ensure that all finance-related documents are scanned and saved securely on SharePoint for easy
  • access during audits.
