Duration: 6 months
Starting date: 07 July 2025
Location: Songdo, Incheon City, Republic of Korea
Remuneration: US$ 1,300/month

Introduction
The Green Climate Fund is the world’s largest dedicated multilateral climate fund and invests in impactful, innovative, catalytic programs and projects in developing countries across the globe. Internship Assignment

The Intern will provide operational support to the CSIO –FO ​Office of Sustainability and Inclusion (OSI)​. S/he will have the opportunity to learn and expand her/his experiences by providing assistance on environmental and social safeguards (ESS), Indigenous Peoples (IPs) issues, sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment (SEAH) and gender issues.

Under the overall guidance of the designated primary and alternate supervisors (Gender and Social Specialist), the Intern is expected to support the Front Office with various tasks to ensure the ES, Indigenous Peoples (IPs) and Gender Policies are adhered to in the various part of the secretariat as well as with a suite of GCF’s stakeholders. This is in line with overall support of OCSIO-FO towards a strengthened focus by the GCF on people and communities affected by climate change, to enhance delivery of impacts and results. In this regard, the Intern will:

  • Support the team in following through the actions identified through the stakeholder’s engagement plan as well as actions in the strategic framework across ESS, IPs and gender issues;
  • Support the work on ESS standard consultations;
  • Support in the review and update of the GCF’s gender action plan;
  • Support the front office in relation to developing communications products, outreach activities, workshop and meeting preparations, particularly on IPs and Gender issues;
  • Provide any other technical and administrative support as may be required by the Office.

Requirements and qualifications

  • Enrolled in or recently graduated from a Master’s or PhD program ​related to environmental or social sciences, management or policy, environmental and social management systems, gender studies, safeguards and impacts assessments or​ related fields;
  • Knowledge and experience with ​stakeholder engagement, environmental and social issues, Indigenous Peoples, gender equality, safeguards, and other/or related fields;​
  • Proficiency in using standard software programs: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access;
  • Excellent writing and communication skills;
  • Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of another United Nations language is an advantage.

*The person assessed by the Selection Panel as most suitable for the position will be proposed for appointment. Selection among short-listed candidates will also take into account performance at interview, appropriate testing, and references.
