Key Responsibilities

  • Leverages media and analytical tools to track coverage of priority issues and the reputation of the organization and its leadership; generates relevant reports for a variety of internal audiences
  • Ensures all monitoring content produced externally and in-house strictly conforms with the organization’s editorial style guide
  • Project manages and coordinates complex, multi- stakeholder initiatives, such as media launches, sponsorships, and advertising partnerships
  • Organizes and manages monitoring assets, ensuring relevance and quality
  • Initiates research activities to discover new media monitoring opportunities and make recommendations for advancement
  • Analyzes media monitoring performances, researches results using a variety of tools, and drafts concise reports and summaries on key stories
  • Monitors breaking news and emerging or known reputational issues, for Communications department and leadership
  • Trains team on new media tools
  • Manages media subscriptions used for monitoring, and other tasks as assigned

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Educated to a degree level (or equivalent)

Experience

Essential:

  • Substantial experience working in media markets and monitoring
  • Experience with content production, digital and print
  • Proven experience using Muck Rack, Meltwater, Talkwalker, Critical Mention, and other well-known media monitoring platforms for successful outcomes in monitoring and media placements

Desirable:

  • Cross-functional work experiences including communications, crisis management, social media, and reputational measurement
  • Substantial experience in press monitoring, including non-English sourcing
  • Managing projects within rapid turnaround times

Competencies

Functional Competencies:

  • Familiarity with data gathering and visualization tools and with qualitative data collection experience plus media databases and content management systems
  • Knowledge of tools and protocols for effective media monitoring
  • Knowledge of the global media landscape and strong familiarity with international and regional news outlets
  • Substantial knowledge of top performing media platforms and tools
  • Working knowledge of content production, digital and print
  • Media monitoring production expertise
  • Ability to read and analyze data reports with multiple data points and visuals
  • Strong ability to lead and be responsible for coordinating complex, global multi- stakeholder initiatives. Requires thorough understanding of cost, logistics, and brand suitability for media launches, sponsored agreements, and advertising partnerships

The salary range for this role in the U.S. is $86,900 – $160,800 (USD). The final offer is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set and level of experience.
