6. Key Accountabilities 1. Ensure all security clearance requests are accurate
and complete, maintaining adherence to UN
Security Management System (UNSMS) standards
and WFP Security policies.
2. Track and report compliance with security related
submission deadlines to ensure adherence to
operational requirements.
3. Monitor and manage travel tracking systems,
ensuring compliance with established travel
windows and security protocols.
4. Consolidate security related budget inputs from
Area and Field Offices to assist the Head of Security
in making informed financial decisions.
5. Facilitate the procurement of security equipment
and maintain accurate tracking of assets to enhance
accountability and resource management.
6. Apply a thorough understanding of UNSMS
standards and WFP Security policies to support the
implementation of security measures.
7. Assist in the implementation of security operations
to ensure the safety and security of WFP staff,
assets, and operations.
8. Perform additional responsibilities as required to
support the objectives of the Security Unit.
8. Minimum
qualifications and
experience.
Education: The ideal candidate for the United
Nations World Food Programme (WFP) Security
Intern job should hold a university degree in
International Relations, Social Work and Social
Administration, Social Sciences, or any other
related field.
Experience and Skills:
• Computer literate in MS Word, Excel,
Access and Power Point, digital mapping
and/or GIS system.
• Ability to travel on short notice.
• Fluency in English (level C) including excellent writing,
reading skills required. Ability to speak, read and
understand local Ugandan languages of the duty station is
added advantage.
