Project: Technical Assistance for enhancing economic transformation in conflict and migration prone regions of Ethiopia

The Overall Objective of the EU programme is to support durable solutions for forced displaced populations in Ethiopia, including their host communities, and to develop a relevant labour migration framework for Ethiopians.

To achieve this objective, the Programme has four interlinked and mutually supportive Specific Objectives (outcomes), as follow:

• Specific Objective 1: Support sustainable local integration and inclusion of Displacement Affected Communities in selected host locations and surrounding rural villages
• Specific Objective 2: Enhance economic transformation in conflict and migration prone regions of Ethiopia
• Specific Objective 3: Strengthen IDP policy and programming:
• Specific Objective 4: Establish a competitive and workers’ rights-oriented labour migration system for Ethiopians

DAI is looking to recruit a new Key expert 3: Value chain and business development expert (Replacement)

Qualifications and skills

• Master’s Degree in economics, or business studies, or a relevant, directly related discipline, or, in its absence, equivalent relevant professional experience of minimum 10 years.

General professional experience

• Minimum 5 years professional experience in support to value chains development in Sub Saharan Africa;
• An excellent verbal and written command of English is required.

Specific professional experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience relating to inclusion of vulnerable population into financial services;
• Minimum 3 years of experience relating to value chains analysis;
• Minimum 3 years of experience relating to design or implementation of innovative financing mechanisms;
• Minimum 1 year experience relating to creating/strengthening platforms/services for information exchange between communities and business services cross-border.

All experts must be independent and free from conflicts of interest in the responsibilities they take on.

Duration and Date: 686 working days until September 2029.

Base of Operation: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
