WHY JOIN WFP?
1. Background
The Programme Associate will support the implementation of emergency response activities in Eastern and Southern Libya, including monthly food distributions, provision of nutrition supplements to children and pregnant and lactating women (PLW), registration of new arrivals, monitoring of programme activities, reporting, and logistical support, thereby ensuring the timely, effective, and accountable delivery of humanitarian assistance to vulnerable populations affected by conflict and displacement.
Reporting directly to the Programme Officer or Head of Area Office in Benghazi, the Programme Associate will work closely with logistics, RAM, and partner teams, with performance assessed on the timely delivery of outputs, accuracy of reporting, and effectiveness in supporting programme operations.
2. Duties and Responsibilities
Support planning and coordination of monthly food distributions and nutrition supplement activities. Monitor the registration and verification of new arrivals, ensuring accurate beneficiary data management. Monitor programme activities in Eastern and Southern Libya, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and donor requirements. Provide technical and administrative support to field teams (WFP or TPM) during distribution and monitoring missions. Collect, compile, and analyze data from field operations, including beneficiary feedback and distribution reports. Prepare regular situation updates, monitoring reports, and inputs for donor reporting. Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of food and nutrition supplies to distribution sites. Support the tracking of stock movements, warehouse management, and distribution schedules. Maintain accurate records of programme activities, ensuring timely submission of documentation. Work closely with WFP Libya COMET Focal Point for the greater utilization of COMET data and for the greater improvement in the data quality Support analysis and reporting of household survey (both quantitative, qualitative data) Support analysis of market data (time-series of food commodity prices). Assist in the periodic review of output and outcome indicators Liaise with local authorities, community leaders, and implementing partners to facilitate programme activities. Support capacity-building initiatives for partners and community volunteers involved in distributions.
