Senior Field Assistant (Internal#135/2025)

icddr,b is a Bangladesh-based international health research institute that strives to solve key public health problems through high-quality scientific research and innovation. icddr,b as a values-based organization encourages women and people with disabilities.

The Program is for early childhood development under the Maternal and Child Health Division (MCHD) at icddr,b integrated with Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) of the Government of Bangladesh. The programme is currently running in different districts in collaboration with different departments under the health ministries at district, sub-district and local level to improve development of young children.

Position description
The Senior Field Assistant will report to the Research Officer. The position holder will be mainly responsible for maintaining liaison with different stakeholders; data collection; Maintaining logistics and reporting to provide regular support in the project implementation within the guidelines of research protocol and organizational values and guidelines. Major responsibilities will include-

• Maintain regular communication with the sub-district and union level government personnel of health sector;

• Assess the quality of the parenting sessions;

• Conduct regular field visits and maintain communication with government community-based health care service providers (CHCP), Family Welfare Assistants (FWA) & Health Assistants (HA) and Inspectors;

• Collect monthly report from the Upazila Health Complex and submit the compiled report to Supervisor;

• Organize Union workshop with local/community stakeholders as per project’s requirement;

• Maintain logistics and ECD intervention materials.

Required qualification and experience
• HSC or equivalent;

• 3 years relevant experience; Candidates having experience in early childhood development programme/research will be given preference.

Contract Type and Duration
• Contractual service agreement (CSA) basis for 6 months with a possibility of extension subject to availability of fund and performance.

Salary & benefits
• Tk.31,807/-per month (consolidated) inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances;

• Festival bonus, income tax paid by icddr,b and subsidized canteen; Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
