The RTI University Collaboration Office seeks a prospect for the Act to End Neglected Tropical Diseases | East Internship within the International Development Group (IDG).

 

This internship is a contract position. The employment contract is administered by Greene Resources Powered by Array, RTI’s supplemental staffing partner.

RTI is seeking an Act to End Neglected Tropical Diseases | East Intern for the USAID-funded Act to End Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) | East Program (Act | East), led by RTI. The Intern will provide technical and administrative support for MERLA activities including learning and adaptation across the program, as well as data analysis. The intern will report to the Act | East Learning and Knowledge Management Facilitator and provide needs-based support to staff across Act | East. This position will be based at RTI’s headquarters in Research Triangle Park, N.C., in RTI’s  Washington, D.C. office, or working remotely.

Responsibilities

  • Support the review and synthesis of program learning from quantitative and qualitative data
  • Assist with learning focused meetings such as roundtables, pause and reflects, after action reviews, learning summits through agenda development, managing invitations, managing the online platform, facilitating breakout sessions, and/or taking notes.
  • Support Act | East in responding to requests for data from country teams or program leadership through coordinating responses to the request, reviewing the data, and/or providing feedback on the output
  • Support Act | East during routine reporting periods, including quality checking data, reviewing narratives, and timeline development and follow-up.
  • Coordinate regular updates on learning through drafting content monthly newsletters and meeting spotlights
  • Support staff in creating easy-to-understand data visuals for program data
  • Support updating and improvement of NTD toolbox, the program’s external Knowledge Management platform
  • Support in identifying and writing abstracts for relevant conferences, and assist Act | East staff with special projects as necessary
  • Support knowledge management and sharing through identifying novel ways to use and promote existing Teams and SharePoint sites

Additional Information

 

This virtual or hybrid paid internship will take place from January 2023 through May 2023. The internship requires a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week. Hours are flexible during business hours, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Current master’s level student pursuing a degree in a relevant social science field (global health/ governance/ nutrition/ environment programs)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis
  • Experience or exposure through coursework analyzing qualitative and quantitative data

     

  • Capacity to prioritize and manage multiple tasks

     

  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented

     

     

  • Proven excellent oral and written communication skills

     

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines under pressure

     

  • Excellent soft skills, including include strong interpersonal and communication skills, a problem-solving attitude, and being a self-starter who works both independently and as a collaborative team player

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience and interest in facilitation

     

  • Familiarity with online collaboration platforms such as MS Teams, Zoom, Google Jamboard, and Mural

     

  • Prior experience working, studying, or traveling in developing countries a plus, but not required

The anticipated pay range for this role is listed below. Our pay ranges represent national averages and may vary by location as a geographic differential may be applied to some locations within the United States.
