Job Title: Administrative Assistant for VITA program

Minimum three months.
4 months: January through April
4-10 hours per week
Monday – Friday during business hours with occasional evening and weekend phone coverage as necessary to support communication throughout the tax filing season
Answer and respond to client phone calls and texts about VITA.
Reach out to clients with tax appointment information.
Monitor the VITA email inbox and respond to inquiries and messages.
Help with the collection of client communication data.
Outreach in the immigrant, refugee communities, low income community of Denver Metro to share out information on free remote tax preparation.
Provide assistance in scanning and uploading necessary tax documents
Skills & Qualifications:
The most effective VITA Administrative Volunteer will have:
Good communication and computer skills.
Reliable internet and cell service.
Commitment to keeping client information confidential and secure .
The ability to work efficiently and independently.
An interest in supporting refugees.
Ability to explain and simplify complex information and systems for diverse populations with limited English language or illiterate in their own language.
High level of comfort and effectiveness in working with multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary teams.
Strong commitment to economic empowerment of low-income and underserved populations.
Excellent customer service skills, including experience working with a diverse client base.
