Org. Setting and Reporting
This position is located in the Airfield Management Unit in the Aviation Section, United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), Naqoura. The incumbent will report to the Chief Airfield Management Unit or his/her designate.Responsibilities
-Assist in receiving and dispatching routine (regular passenger/cargo, logistics resupply) flights, special (casualty and medical evacuation, VIP) flights and military operational flights.
-Assist in planning aircraft parking locations.
-Assist in monitoring fuel upload.
-Operate Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE).
-Carries out handling, loading and processing of dangerous cargo.
-Assists in verifying passenger and cargo manifest.
-Assist in ensuring that aircraft are properly parked.
-Assist in passenger embarking and disembarking in coordination with MovCon personnel and local airport staff.
-Conduct regular inspections of UNIFIL aviation infrastructure, meteorological weather stations and continuously monitor the status of all UNIFIL helipads.
-Conduct helipad managers’ induction training and conduct site surveys to establish new landing sites, update Helipad directory on network database and share information with all concerned.
-Assist in controlling and monitoring ramp access (ramp security to include weapon checks and controlling all movements on the ramp).
-Performs other related duties as tasked by the supervisor.

High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
A minimum of three (03) years of progressively responsible experience in Aviation related
fields is required.
Experience in Ground Operations, Ramp safety, RFFS and emergency response is desirable.
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English (both oral and written) is required.
