Org. Setting and Reporting

These (3) positions are located within the Centralized Warehousing Section (CWS) of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), Naqoura. The incumbents will report to the Head of Unit/Supervisor.


• Assists in implementing centralized warehousing processes in the assigned area of responsibility.
• Assists in creating and managing bin locations, organizing allocation of space for items including material handling and other physical warehouse functions to store, move, prepare, transfer and preserve materials in the warehouses including unloading or loading from docking stations and/or crossdocking and process in the inventory management system.
• Process transfer of inventory to end-users / service orders based on the approved reservations, service orders or Project WBS processed by the Technical Sections.
• Assists in monitoring stock of supplies in the stores; assists in conducting regular stock taking of materials in the warehouses.
• Assist in raising requisitions for services and items required from the Warehouses; Liaises with offices and Sections about the requests received. Follows-up and provides updates of requisition status on a regular basis.
• Assists Receiving Unit in receiving goods delivered by vendors and managed by the central warehouses. Prepares internal receiving reports for goods in the warehouses.
• Assists in conducting periodic inventory of materials managed by the warehouses and update records in the system by processing transfer orders to individual end users of UN property for purpose of transparency and accountability.
• Assists in preparing write-off requests for property, which is lost, obsolete or damaged and ensures that property approved for write-off and disposal is handed over to the Property Disposal Unit in a timely manner.
• Assists with the proper segregation and disposal of hazardous waste of written-off property and commodities representing a risk to the environment, in order to avoid any pollution or contamination.
• Generates relevant status reports.
• Maintains and monitors relevant databases (e.g., stock levels of various supply items).
• Provides advice on technical matters to the supervisor.
• Organizes and maintains contract files and Section’s manuals.
• Performs other duties as required.

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Job – Specific Qualification

Driving license type “B” is required (PLEASE ATTACH).

Work Experience

A minimum of three (03) years of experience in warehouse and inventory management or related area is required.

Physical experience in putting-away and picking materials, replenishing stock and organizing the warehouse is required.

Physical experience in the utilization of material handling equipment (pallet trucks, order pickers, forklifts etc.) used for warehouse operations is desirable.


English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the positions advertised, fluency in English (both oral and written) is required.


Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise, which may be followed by competency-based interview.
