The Role:

The Technical Specialist-Civic Engagement will be responsible for designing the innovative Civic Engagement model, develop and reviewing the technical tools. Mainly work for capacity building/strengthening, networking with Govt. and Civil society authorities and ultimately contribute to Results through developing the capacity of CSO and partner’s staffs. The position will ensure gender transformation in the Civic Engagement component.

What we’re looking for:

We need a self-motivated and energetic individual with Master’s Degree preferably in development studies, or a related field. Proven experience (typically 3-5 years) in Civic Engagement with youth, especially young girls, women and left

behind populations.

Essential:

• The position holder will provide support to the Project Manager for Civic Engagement issue Integration with the core objectives of the project
• The position holder will support the design phase for establishing a multi-country resource hub that facilitates the enlargement of civic, democratic and civil society space
• The position holder will provide support for the capacity building intervention for the youth/women-led CSOs to participate as rights holders in national/regional/global-level efforts to reclaim and protect civic space and civic engagement
• The Position holder will provide support for the Duty bearers, so they can initiate actions regarding opening civic space and advancing fundamental human rights.
• S/he will take a proactive stance in identifying and mitigating the safeguarding of children, young people and gender transformative related risks, implementing interventions in the community by Plan International Bangladesh.

The position will represent Plan International Bangladesh in forums and networks at the national /divisional level.
