In order to respond quickly with the increasing of humanitarian with lifesaving stock, IPDs from the ZMPP that persists and to provide necessary support to the humanitarian operations, hence UNICEF has rented a warehouse in Les Cayes that serves the department : South, Nippes, Grand’Anse et Southeast.  In this context, the recruitment of a Logistics Assistant is necessary in the follow-up of the deliveries to the various partners and to be able to help in the field office for certain logistical aspects as well as for the follow-up of the work of the third-party service provider in the warehouse and help the field office in the administrative tasks.

How can you make a difference?

Under the supervision of the Operations Officer, the incumbent ensures timely and cost-effective delivery of supplies to UNICEF assisted programmes and procurement service customers in the Grand Sud of Haiti Country Office and might be assigned to other locations as per needs.

The key services and tasks to be provided/undertaken during this temporary appointment is as follow:

  • Assists with administration of logistics operations including receipt, warehousing, transport, distribution, shipping;
  • Tracks and monitors incoming shipments from PAP or Miragoane as arranged;
  • Maintains appropriate filing of logistics and shipping documents;
  • Ensures data correctness in VISION to facilitate clearing;
  • Liaises with clearing agent and ensures timely availability of documentation;
  • Records and retrieves information related to supply/logistics including receiving documents and data for input and completes the established input procedures;
  • Submit regular reports for a continuous overview of supply chain operations including volumes, values, incoming goods, warehouse stocks and distribution;
  • Participates in regular warehouse physical inventory counts and submits subsequent inventory reports;

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Completion of secondary education with additional training in logistics, shipping or warehousing.
  • A minimum of five years of experience from a similar function or from administrative jobs encompassing logistics, shipping or warehousing.
  • Fluency in French is required. Working knowledge of English is an asset.
  • Knowledge of shipping and logistics
  • Be able to use current job-related computer software and databases
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office package, in particular Word, Excel, and Powerpoint is required
  • A sound knowledge of Excel based analytical tools and SAP

General Service Staff are recruited locally. Candidates must be in possession of an existing work permit or resident/citizen of Haiti to be considered eligible for this post.
