The Advisor, Data Insights Analyst will have a critical role for the Agency to communicate actionable insights, influence decision making, and improve operations and employee experience based on insights generated by analysis and statistical modeling. You will also work with key stakeholders and BI & Analytics Leadership to define/refine KPIs that measure business partners’ goals, analyze, and maintain reports and dashboards to generate timely actionable insights.

The Advisor, Data Insights Analyst is expected to provide guidance and influence decision making. This position must foster collaboration in an environment that rewards the inclusion of and respect for team members in BTS and across the Agency. You will influence requirements to ensure established report development methodologies and requirements are followed and to ensure prioritization and shared responsibility in projects are met and be proactive in providing guidance and recommendations to business partners to ensure accurate and actionable data and analyses are delivered.

What You’ll Be Doing (Essential Duties)

  • Develop advanced statistical analyses and modeling that provide timely, automated access to key performance metrics and financial forecasting aligned with the strategic goals of the Agency by transforming data into usable business intelligence that lead to increased efficiency, revenue, supporter engagement and brand awareness. (35%)
  • Transforming and translating data into actionable dashboards, reports, algorithms, or datasets that has a substantial impact on the functional area of support. Develop visual reports, effective layout, dashboards and KPI scorecards using Tableau on large datasets and able to integrate (SaaS), or by API automation. (25%)
  • Collaborate with UX team to gather user requirements, assist with user acceptance testing, and develop end-user documentation and training when needed. Present analytical results and data visualizations in a way that is meaningful and provides actionable insights. (25%)
  • Discover new opportunities where advanced analytical techniques can be leveraged for solving business problems. Cloud analytics Integrate into applications using embedded analytics like Tableau, Snowflake, Power BI service (SaaS), or by API automation.  (15%)

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience, plus at least 5 years of relevant experience
  • Proven work experience with Business Intelligence as a Developer and/or Data Analyst
  • Proven technical experience with statistical models, database design development, data mining & data visualization
  • Knowledge of analytics programming languages (SQL/R/Python)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with reporting, particularly with Tableau and source databases (Like Snowflake, etc.)
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proven organizational skill, with proactive and result-oriented problem solving abilities
  • Professional proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externally

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in cloud-based platforms like AWS and Snowflake
  • Experience in cloud ERP accounting software like Agresso and NonProfitPlus
  • Experience in non-profit CRM such as Salesforce CRM, Blackbaud CRM, EveryAction
  • Knowledge of MDM platform like Informatica and Ataccama
  • Knowledge of iPaaS such as Workado and MuleSoft


Save the Children is offering the following salary ranges for this position, dependent on candidate location:

  • Geo 1 – NY Metro, DC, and other locations with labor costs significantly above national average: Target Salary for this position is $84,150 – $94,050 base salary
  • Geo 2 – Locations around the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $76,500 – $85,500 base salary
  • Geo 3 – Locations significantly below the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $68,850 – $76,950 base salary

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location (more information on job structure is available here). Employee may be eligible for an incentive program.  Save the Children also offers paid vacation, accrued at least 12 days a year, depending on paygrade and length of service, paid safety and wellness leave of at least 1 day per month worked for a full time employee which is pro rata reduced for employees working less than a full time schedule, and at least 10 paid holidays a year. Employees may be eligible for additional bonus compensation.
