 Under the guidance of the DSA and the direct supervision of the FSA/ Telecom ICT Associate, the Telecom clerk provides support to CSA/ DSA/ FSA office The Telecom clerk is also required to provide services to the operations and SOC staff, Consultants, Experts and UN staff on mission.
Duties and Responsibilities
Summary of Key Functions: Under the direct supervision of the CSA/ DSA / FSA, the incumbent will perform the following duties:
  • Maintaining telecom office files.
  • Maintaining store logbook and copies of all equipment sent out from the UNDSS office.
  • Assist in telecom store management; Assist with the communication security inventory and management of UNDSS stores.
  • Provide support to Telecom Associate in the UNAFPOs VHF radios programming, repeater sites maintain, loading & unloading of telecom equipment during field missions.
  • Assist/ maintain/ arrange the Crises Coordination Centre (CCC) for security operation and help in situations. Also assist the FSA/ Telcom Associate in the storage/ inventory management of all vehicles equipment’s Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), Emergency Trauma Bag (ETB) and First Aid Kits.
  • Provide support in preparation of security briefing by arrange chairs, table office equipment’s of conference room for security briefings.
  • Maintain and assist in the operation of the SSAFE training generators and other Telecom equipment.
  • Provide support in maintaining SSAFE telecom items/assets listing, repair, and maintenance.
  • Responsible for coordinating courier delivery service.
  • Performing basic technical ICT duties such as: Changing printer cartridges / Toners; Setting up workstations/ Projectors for security briefings; and Supervision of office photocopier for serviceability, maintenance, and fault reporting.
  • Any other miscellaneous UN duties as assigned by UNDSS CSA offices Pakistan.

Required Skills and Experience

Education:High School Education/Intermediate

Experience: 3 years’ work experience as an office helper; inventory record keeping; knowledge of office management and mail dispatch.
