Translation of the UNDP Gender Social Norms Index report from English to French

UNDP is the global development network available to the United Nations System. It aims to support governmentst all levels of society to help build resilient nations, achieve growth that improves the quality of life for everyone. UNDP provides a global perspective and local knowledge to serve people and nations. The Country Program Document (CPD) in the Republic of Congo for the period 2020-2024 was approved by the Executive Board of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in July 2019 . This programme has been designed jointly with Government and partners and is aligned with the country’s priorities set out in the National Development Plan (PND) and is essentially based on two interdependent pillars which simultaneously address issues related to governance and peacebuilding (Pillar 1) and sustainable economic diversification, the resilience of institutions and communities vulnerable to climate change and crisis (Pillar 2). This is the specific contribution of the UNDP to the overall UN response through the United Nations Development Assistance Framework plan (UNDAF) in the republic Congo for 2020-2024.
The translated version of the document will be used by the organization to share with members of government in order to inform them about the effects of social gender norms on gender equality and, the empowerment of women and girls to strengthen integration gender in Congo’s development policies and programs through data from last generation.
Translation and Interpretation
The United Nations Development Program Office in Congo is looking for 2 online volunteers to help us translate the “UNDP Gender Social Norms Index report” from English to French. To this end the Online Volunteers are asked: – To translate the document, which is 40 pages long into French – Ensure the translation is concise, in line with our communications guidelines, and fits the audience The selected Online Volunteers will be provided with the document in the original language and will receive guidance from the gender focal point on the target audience, as well as other guidance as needed. A translation of a paragraph will be requested as part of the selection process.
Previous translation experience is considered an asset. Familiarity with technical terms related to gender policies will be considered an advantage.
