Mission and objectives

As the United Nations’ lead agency on international development, UNDP works in 170 countries and territories to eradicate poverty and reduce inequality. We help countries to develop policies, leadership skills, partnering abilities, and institutional capabilities, and to build resilience to achieve Sustainable Development Goals. Our work concentrates on three focus areas; sustainable development, democratic governance and peacebuilding, and climate and disaster resilience. The UNDP Regional Hub for Europe and the CIS (based in Istanbul, Turkiye) is UNDP’s main knowledge and advisory hub for the countries serviced by UNDP’s Regional Bureau for Europe and the CIS (RBEC). Through its regional programme, the Istanbul Regional Hub (IRH) provides advisory support, organizational learning and innovation services to UNDP Country Offices in the ECIS region in the areas of sustainable development, effective democratic governance, energy and resilience, gender, health and development. The IRH Partnerships Team provides support to Country Offices in the ECIS region as well as thematic teams at the Regional Hub in identifying and building partnerships with a wide range of actors in advancing the Agenda 2030.

The IRH Partnerships Team produces a weekly overview of updates on the international development landscape, which is shared with UNDP colleagues in the ECIS region. The small core team manages the production of this resource and is seeking assistance with news monitoring. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can bring their knowledge, ideas and skills to support this effort. Expected start date is 5 February 2024.
