THE OPPORTUNITY

 

Plan International Pilipinas Foundation Inc. will implement a five-year project entitled: A Gender-Responsive Systems Approach to Universal Health Care (GRASP-UHC) in the Philippines.

 

This intervention aims to improve the health outcomes of vulnerable populations, by enhancing the capacity of local government units (LGUs) to provide affordable and equitable access to healthcare goods and services through effective Universal Health Care (UHC). The project will be implemented in collaboration with Plan International, The Zuellig Family Foundation (ZFF), the Unité de santé internationale de l’Université de Montréal (USI-UdeM), and local civil society organizations.

 

In line with this project, we invite competent, experienced, and committed professionals to fill the following position.

 

The Project Officer will provide frontline support to the project, lead in mobilizing community and other stakeholder participation and facilitate village/community community-level activities.

 

Further, as the Project Officer:

 

  • You will work closely with the project specialists to render quality and technically-sound activities at the community level and engage all relevant stakeholders to build ownership of the project.
  • You will lead community level participatory situational analysis and consultations to draw up solutions to identified problems.
  • You will mobilize the participation of project stakeholders ensuring their meaningful inputs are considered throughout the project life.
  • You will design capacity building activities with children, families, local government personnel and other UHC stakeholders, based on identified capacity gaps.
  • You will facilitate local participation in the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation (SAPIME) using inclusive and gender-transformative approaches.
  • You will prepare community-level reports.
  • Plan International Pilipinas Foundation Inc. is a development and humanitarian organization. In exceptional cases, you will be asked to support emergency response activities.

 

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

 

To be successful in the role you will need among other things:

 

  • University degree in social work, community development; health-related discipline, social development, social sciences or other related fields.
  • At least 3 years of solid in implementing programs at the community level, two years of which preferably spent in implementing health-related projects/programs.
  • Has good knowledge and grounding on community development, partnership and stakeholder engagement, networking, advocacy and campaigns, data gathering and documentation, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Has undergone basic training and/or possesses good knowledge of children’s rights, government health programs, community-based health systems, health governance, gender equality and inclusion.
  • Good computer applications knowledge.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse and dynamic team.
  • This role requires fieldwork. Applicant must be open and able to conduct fieldwork in areas covered by the project.
  • Applicants must be based in the Philippines and a Filipino national.
