JOB DESCRIPTION

The Organisation

Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls.

We believe in the power and potential of every child. But this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination. And it’s girls who are most affected.

Working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children.

We support children’s rights from birth until they reach adulthood. And we enable children to prepare for – and respond to – crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge.

We have been building powerful partnerships for children for over 85 years, and are now active in more than 80 countries.

The Opportunity:

This position is responsible for supervising all Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) processes related to the ECHO funded project implemented in the Northwest Region. You will work closely with the MERL Coordinator, Project Coordinator and Officer in Charge, ensuring the quality of internal and external reports; this will also include defining and executing data editing and corrections, creating/accessing database, developing forms, documentation of procedures and data analysis for the ECHO funded project. The MERL Officer will be based at the Plan International Cameroon office in Bamenda, with travels to field locations related to the project.

The Individual/About You:

As the MERL Officer, you should hold a University Degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Data Management, Computer Science or Statistics, Economics or related disciplines.

Also, with you having a minimum of three (03) years experience in Data Collection and Data Management, Monitoring & Evaluation, database design, database distribution and map production – with proficiency in the use of GIS, Advanced Excel, SPSS or STATA and other related software packages – you will be apt in meeting the obligations of this role.
