As the Communications & Campaign officer, you will be supporting the overall communications agenda through the program teams to develop engaging content that increases the awareness and understanding of save the children Vanuatu’s work with key internal and external stakeholders including donors, partners, the media, and the public. You will act as the focal point person for the country office for campaigns and work closely with the Communications and Advocacy Manager at Save the Children Vanuatu.

Note this role will engage with children to raise their voice to three priority key areas in our Advocacy Strategy:

– Childrens exposure to violence

– Climate Justice

– Social protection

 

 

You will make an impact by:

 

· Supporting the field programme teams in ensuring save the children brand and donor requirements are fulfilled for visibility and communications materials.

· Produce high focus case studies and impact stories to showcase program impacts in Vanuatu.

· Support key tasks within the communications workplan as directed by the communications and Advocacy Manager.

· Leveraging Vanuatu’s role as champion country in the global climate crisis campaign and to support project managers to explore opportunities.

· Coordinate all in country aspects of the Vanuatu climate campaign and ensure childrens voices are heard in highly quality campaign activities.

· Build and explore storytelling opportunities to build understanding of climate and inequality as child rights issues, amplifying childrens own campaigning.

· Build and develop meaningful partnerships with civil society in Vanuatu.

 

 

Does this sound like you?

 

 

You have photography and content creation skills and the ability to advocate and campaign for children to address key issues in climate change, Child protection and social protection. Coordination skills to work alongside the Advocacy and Communications Manager to carry out all Communications and Campaign deliverables for project focus and country office.

 

This role requires:

 

· demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically to implement communications and campaign strategies.

· Demonstrated skills in photography and writing engaging content.

· Familiar with Microsoft office and social media platforms

· Self-motivated and works well under pressure with completing deadlines.

· Experience working on child rights advocacy or campaigning directly with young people under 18 years of age.
