Education: Completion of a degree in statistics or a related field.
Experience: At least 4 years’ work experience in monitoring and evaluation of development/humanitarian projects
Language: Fluency in both English and Sesotho.
The job holder reports to a VAM/M&E Officer or the designate.
At this level, job holders are responsible for the completion of a range of specialized and/or standardized processes and activities requiring some interpretation of standard guidelines and practices. Job holders are able to recommend a course of action to staff at various levels and may allocate tasks to other support staff. They work under minimum supervision, perform basic analyses and compile reports to support information consistency and smooth implementation of programmes/projects.
To perform monitoring and evaluation -related processes and activities to support the effective delivery of project activities.
1. Prepare detailed monthly calendar of M&E activities for CSP activities.
2. Provide support to the Field Offices to ensure that the database for the beneficiary lists for both activities are up to date; the lists are validated with the partners.
3. In liaison with Field Offices, prepare Output Monitoring Report against the project output indicators; provide analysis of achievement against each output indicator on monthly basis and share it with the Head of VAM/M&E Unit.
4. Ensure that the Project MRE Plan is followed both at the country office and field level; ensure that data collection tools are complaint with the exisiting M&E logframe and are programmed on odk/MODA; make timely preparations for baselines and post monitoring activities of the project.
5. Coordinate COMET activities and ensure that output data is entered timely in the system.
6. Provide training of the enumerators on monitoring data collection tools for outcome process monitoring.
7. Support activities that aim to strengthen the capacity of the government on monitoring and evaluation of CSP activities.
8. Follow up with FOs on complaints and feedback mechanism; follow up on issues that require further assessment and report on them.
9. Conduct process monitoring and ensure the achievements of Output Indicators.
10. Assist Communication and Reporting Officer to follow up with FOs on timely submission of stories worth telling and pictures for visibility.
11. Report on operational bottlenecks related to M&E and share progress reports at the weekly Programme meetings.
12. Prepare monthly reports and share the monitoring findings with Programme on monthly basis; ensure that recommendations are included in the Recommendation Matrix and are tracked regularly.
13. Regularly liaise with GIS team to update maps of WFP operations.
