Within the framework of the UNESCO and the Italian Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the UNESCO “World Water Assessment Programme – WWAP”, under the overall supervision of the WWAP Coordinator and direct supervision of Senior Water and Gender Programme Specialist, in close collaboration with all members of the WWAP Secretariat, the Gender Communication and Social Media Consultant is requested to carry out tasks in the following categories:
1. Communication
Support the development and update of content for the WWAP water and gender website.
Draft of WWAP water and gender project result articles for the UNESCO website and other communication purposes.
2. Knowledge production and capacity development
Provide assistance to WWAP programme officers, potentially in collaboration with other stakeholders, in the development of publication materials through knowledge-based inputs and revision. Carry out the gender mainstreaming of the WWDR zero and first drafts. Assist in the provision of written sectoral inputs as required. Support the WWAP Water and gender capacity development programme, notably in the revision and development of training materials.
3. Advocacy
Support the preparation of gender and water events, both online and in-person, including drafting agendas and invitation letters, liaising with partners and invitees, drafting post-event communication reports and maintain records of event attendance. Tasks may include: provision of inputs to the development of the mid-term strategy of the Call for Action Initiative, assistance to – or co-organization- of related events, delivering presentations, assist in the development of associated materials such as briefings, speeches, scenario, PPT, scripts and communication materials.
4. Ad-hoc support
Carry out ad-hoc activities linked to the preparation of relevant documents, speeches, presentations, reporting and gender mainstreaming of internal and external publications. Maintain and update water and gender database of trainings, events and publications; assist in the reporting of the water and gender component.
