WFP has been working in the Dominican Republic since 1969 supporting the country in achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 2 – Zero Hunger through technical assistance for national capacity building and the development of strategies that contribute to healthy, nutritious and sufficient food, as well as building resilience of the most vulnerable population
The Dominican Republic, due to its geographical location in the Caribbean region and conditions inherent to its geomorphology, is exposed to a series of threats that have their origin in the dynamics of nature and others produced by the intervention of the hand of man, which puts a significant part of the population at great risk.
We are seeking to fill a consultancy position of Crisis and Emergency Response Analyst as focal point for Dominican Republic CO, covering AI/ML/advanced analytics projects with global impact. We understand the potential that technology offers to achieve our objectives and through our corporate vision and frameworks we are also committed to building solutions that can be replicated elsewhere.
Under overall guidance of CO management team, the candidate will be expected to prototype advanced analytics/AI/ML solutions with the aim of supporting commitment with government and emergencies support from face social and civil protection.
Education: University degree (Bachelors or Masters); a degree in mathematics, engineering, or computer science preferred.
Language: Fluency (level C) oral and written communication in English and any other languages would be appreciated.
