Result of Service
Tangible and measurable outputs of the work assignment • Tangible Output: A detailed strategy document outlining the OHCHR Regional Office for Europe’s advocacy and communication plan for the upcoming European election. • Tangible Output: A comprehensive stakeholder map, identifying partners, stakeholders, and key events and platforms relevant to the European Elections. • Tangible Output: An advocacy plan focusing on positioning the ROE in discussions surrounding the June 2024 European Elections. • Tangible Output: Press releases, informational materials, and social media campaigns. • Tangible Output: Effective outreach and awareness-raising regarding human rights concerns among main stakeholders and partners. • Tangible Output: Regular updates of the website and social media platforms.

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Objectives and Targets (Specific Functions of Consultant/Individual Contractor) • Support the developing and implementing of the OHCHR Regional Office for Europe’s advocacy and communication strategy for the upcoming European election: • Identifying key issues on electoral process and thematic actionable in line with OHCHR’s work. • Help develop a strategic advocacy plan to position the ROE in discussions surrounding the June 2024 European Elections, emphasizing human rights visibility and engagement. • Map partners, stakeholders and identify events and platforms to communicate on the elections. 2. Support the Regional Office for Europe with communication implementation • Conduct stakeholder outreach and communication initiatives to raise awareness and promote human rights concerns, utilizing press releases, informational materials, and social media campaigns for effective advocacy in coordination with the communication assistant. • Support with website and social media content production. • Support with organizational needs around visits and event management in relation to the scope of work.
Qualifications/special skills
Advanced University degree or equivalent preferably in law, political science, international relations or other disciplines related to human rights. • A minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience in human rights, strategic communications, advocacy, public relations or administration. • Experience in website management, the usage of office software packages and the handling of web-based management systems is desirable. • Experience of Adobe software solutions (Photoshop, Audition, Premiere, etc.) is an asset. • Experience with the UN common system, the EU or other similar international organization is desirable.
Languages
Fluency in English is required; knowledge of French is desirable. Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.
