In recent years, WFP’s expertise and footprint has been leveraged by governments to build supply chain emergency response capacities around the world. WFP works with governments from a range of sectors to strengthen local supply chain capacities by transferring WFP’s know-how and best practices, with the overarching goal of making government systems more performant and shock resilient. In line with these experiences, the WFP Multi-Country Office (MCO) for the Caribbean provides multi-year technical assistance in support to the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) and its participating member states.
The role will provide oversight to supply chain capacity strengthening portfolio with a focus on emergency preparedness, response, and recovery. The supply chain officer will also provide leadership, and support to the Head of Supply Chain during emergency response through deployment and management of supply chain relief operations.
The Supply Chain Officer will report to the Head of Supply Chain and will be responsible for the following activities:
Education:
Advanced University degree preferably in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, Logistics, or other related field, or First University degree with additional years of related work experience
and/or training/courses.

Leads continuous supply chain improvement and innovation initiatives within area of operations managed. Defines operational performance targets, monitors performance, anticipates and mitigates risks for timely corrective actions. |
• Experience in managing an area of supply chain operations including coordination with internal and external stakeholders;
• Experience in implementing operational supply chain strategies in a country;
• Experience in designing and implementing supply chain, retail and partnership networks;
• Experience in managing relationships and national capacity building initiatives with UN agencies, NGOs, private sector and/or government organizations;
• Experience evaluating and selecting service providers and/or suppliers;
• Experience identifying operational risks and maintaining documentation on emergency preparedness;
• Experience in implementing approved corrective actions to improve performance and monitoring progress;
• Experience supervising professional staff.
