JOB DESCRIPTION

ICRISAT seeks applications from dynamic Indian nationals for Research Technician to support a project entitled ?Bihar Centre of Excellence for Millets Value Chain? to be implemented in Bihar State. This position is based at Mayapur village, Gaya, Bihar, and reporting to ICRISAT Headquarters, Patancheru, Telangana, India.

Responsibilities:

  • To conduct Crop cafeteria in research stations and KVKs and Frontline demonstrations (FLDs) in farmers? fields in Bihar
  • To attend all the field activities from sowing to harvesting, data collection, seed production, purity and quality maintenance, seed processing and storage
  • Supervise laborers in crop production activities from planting to harvesting including seed processing.
  • Regularly communicate updates and progress to the supervisor.
  • Travel to different sites within Bihar State to conduct experiments and gather data.
  • Performing any other project activities as advised by the supervisor.

Requirement:

  • Graduate (biological science), preference will be given to those with experience of 2-3 years working on ICRISAT mandate crops seed production, processing.
  • Familiarity with crop cafeteria, FLDs, field activities, monitoring, and data collection Ability to drive 2 & 4-wheeler and travel to other sites when required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal day-to-day supervision.

General:

 This is a contractual role for a period of 36 months (3 years).
