These job openings are in the Conflict Prevention and Stabilization (CPS) at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).

 

Duties

  • Performs a wide range of administrative management functions that service and/or fulfill several organizational requirements.
  • Interprets and implements policies and procedural guidelines for organizational services provided and verifies accuracy of information.
  • Provides support for various operational aspects of the office, which may include functions related to procurement, program planning, budget/finance, office administration, and security.
  • Acts as liaison with key stakeholders to address and resolve a range of administrative, program, and human resources issues.
  • Conducts research and reports findings to the Director/Team Lead on areas pertaining to long-and-short range administrative planning activities, budgetary constraints, and other administrative work priorities.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience:

GS-11: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-9 level in the Federal service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Examples of qualifying specialized experience at the next lower level for this position includes: (a) conducting administrative operations for an organization’s crisis operation, and ensuring effective support services internal and external stakeholders; (b) managing the design, organization, implementation or evaluation of administrative functions to ensure efficient, agile support services for staff working domestically and overseas; and (c) engaging with internal and external stakeholders, including a range of administrative services, security, and human resources offices as well as the client program office to effectively manage a contingency workforce.

Education: A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities, to do the work of the position,

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Examples of qualifying specialized experience at the next lower level for this position includes: (a) using knowledge and expertise in conducting administrative operations for an international assistance organization’s crisis operations, and ensuring effective support services; (b) developing and managing the design, organization, implementation or evaluation of administrative functions to ensure efficient, agile support services for staff working domestically and overseas; and (c) engaging independently with internal and external stakeholders, including a range of administrative services, security, and human resources offices as well as the client program office to effectively manage a contingency workforce.

Experience includes both paid and unpaid activities, such as volunteer work through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work provides training and experience that can translate directly to paid employment. Qualifying experience, including volunteer experience, that aligns with the duties of this position will be considered.
