The UNESCO Regional Office in New Delhi covers Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives. The incumbent shall contribute to the design, implementation, development, and coordination of activities carried out under Major Programe IV – Culture in the South Asia region in close collaboration with the Member States, local communities, and other stakeholders and close cooperation and coordination with the relevant Entities of the Culture Sector at Headquarters.
This also includes coordinating with the United Nations Country Teams (UNCTs) of the cluster countries, ensuring alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF), the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and contributing to the overall strategic objectives of UNESCO’s Culture Program (42 C/5).
Under the overall authority of the Director of the UNESCO Regional Office for Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and the Maldives and the supervision of the Chief of the Culture Sector, the incumbent shall:
Education
Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in cultural heritage, creative industries, cultural landscapes, heritage management, or relevant fields.

Duration of contract
The duration of the contract is 1 year with a probation period of 3 months, with the possibility of extension depending on the availability of funds and the performance of the candidate.

UNESCO’s salaries consist of a basic salary and other benefits which may include if applicable: 30 days of annual leave, 24 days of certified sick leave etc..
