JOB DESCRIPTION

Are you looking for an exciting internship opportunity with one of the world’s largest NGOs? Then you might be our new intern for the Fall semester.

Who are we?

The People Development & Engagement Team, which forms part of the global HR Department, works towards an organization in which staff are motivated, feel included, and have the necessary skills to do their jobs – thereby enabling us to better assist and protect more people in need. We do this by providing staff, managers, and HR teams across our operations with policies, processes, and tools that have a visible impact on staff development and engagement. The team consists of 7 employees.

About the internship

DRC commits to the Organizational Principle “Include” for 2025 (50% gender balance and 50%+ national staff in management roles). This is led by DRC’s Diversity & Inclusion Specialist who develops and implements initiatives related to the attraction, development & retention of underrepresented groups. You will work closely together with our Diversity and Inclusion specialist to contribute to DRC’s diversity and inclusion agenda.

More specifically, you will:

– Design, manage, and implement a project to strengthen diversity and inclusion in DRC in one of the following areas outlined below. The exact focus of the internship project will be determined in dialogue based on your background and interests.

– Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Training Program: Develop and support the roll-out of e-learning and resources on mentorship, allyship, and inclusive leadership.

– Mentoring framework: Support with developing and rolling out a mentoring framework in DRC that can be adapted and implemented by DRC’s local offices. The purpose of the mentoring framework is to strengthen and further expand a diverse talent pipeline, targeting specifically underrepresented groups at DRC and to promote an overall coaching and mentoring culture as part of an enabling and inclusive work environment.

– Support the People Development and Engagement team with other D&I-related tasks and projects, e.g. strengthening DRC’s employer brand, auditing onboarding courses for staff & managers, supporting the delivery of D&I workshops, analyzing data to support strategic initiatives, developing content for internal and external communication, etc.

We offer flexibility in the type of tasks, so you also have the possibility to influence the tasks, subject to what is relevant for your study programme.
