Job Purpose

 

Under the closer supervision of IRRI’s Country Support Service Manager – Mozambique, provide day-to-day support to all activities related to finance processes, including payroll process, taxes, bank and cash transactions. Monitor and process all financial requests following internal procedures and ensure timely consolidation and reporting.

This position will be based in Maputo, Mozambique, and may only be filled by permanent citizens of Mozambique.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

 

  • Preparing and posting expense documents and reports on OCS
  • Prepare and process cash advances and payment requests and counter-checking receipts
  • Photocopy and scan documents
  • Assist in the application and processing of import and export permits for research and other materials
  • Process cash advance requests
  • Keep information accurate and updated in the process management reports
  • Process and pay payroll and respective taxes according to respective deadlines
  • Efficient and effective financial support for staff, visitors, and collaborators
  • Ensuring all programs and operations have adequate support needed
  • Reporting discrepancies found within the accounts to his/her supervisor
  • Ensure Compliance with expenditure commitment procedures
  • Financial reports
  • Advanced register shall be well maintained

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Management, or related field with 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in cash management, reconciliation, financial reports, payroll
    and taxes; experience with OCS is an added value

 

Skills Required

 

Mandatory

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Good oral and written communication skills, communicates the status of work regularly and in a timely manner
  • Must be scrupulously honest and always foster an atmosphere of trust and integrity.
  • Ability to perform fast, efficient and maintain discretion and confidentiality
  • Experience with using an ERP system
  • Basic knowledge of accounting

Preferred

  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good organizational skill
