ABOUT THE JOB

As part of Economic recovery program interventions, DRC will implement small community infrastructures for the most vulnerable people under CFW modality. Therefore, economic recovery officer (CFW) will be responsible to deliver high quality of specialized project activities related to community infrastructure projects and will be enroll within overall process/life – cycle, starting from coordination, infrastructures identification, beneficiary assessment, monitoring, supervision, implementation, and management. In addition, EcRec officer will be responsible to assist technical engineer in terms of preparation of design and BoQ/cost estimation. The CFW infrastructures and beneficiaries will be selected based on DRC CFW SOPs and specified project donor’s requirements to achieve project objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects activities as per instruction of senior technical program officer/engineer or senior livelihoods program officer.
  • Lead CFW project activities as per the instruction of technical engineer and team leader.
  • Coordination with community and relevant department in-terms of infrastructures identification
  • Responsible to deliver high quality infrastructures with the consideration of SOPs and criteria
  • Responsible the overall control of CFW infrastructures including natural resource management projects in the community.
  • Responsible of the beneficiary’s identification and data collection
  • Maintains the Cash for Work database by updating it on regular basis.
  • Identifies and anticipates problems or constraints, reports and any technical issue to technical engineer and line manager
  • Responsible for ensuring safety rules, protective equipment’s are followed/ implemented on field.
  • Supervise skilled and un-skilled labors.
  • Keep clear daily timesheets record of both the skilled and un-skilled beneficiaries.
  • Monitor the daily construction activities and provide technical advice to CFW beneficiaries as required.
  • Able to travel to other southern provinces for field visits.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by line manager.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role you must have:

Experience and technical competencies:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ work experience in relevant construction and infrastructure work
  • Strong understanding of community context and having good knowledge of field works.
  • Have skills and knowledge of managing construction projects.
  • Good report writing skills.
  • Able to travel districts and field.

technical competencies: Good knowledge of stone masonry, pointing, casting concrete, shuttering and construction work on field level.

Education/qualifications:

  • Preferred BSc. Of Engineering
  • BSc. Social / public administration

Languages:

  • Pashto (Fluent)
  • Dari (Fluent)
  • English (Fluent)

  • Contract length: to 31st of December 2024 with the possibility of Extension.

  • Designation of Duty Station: Based in Kandahar.
