Are you service minded and ready to support when your colleagues need a hand? The Shared Support Hub in the Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for a resourceful Finance Officer.

Who are we?

The HQ Shared Support Hub is a new unit in HQ which is being set up with the purpose of improving support service delivery to units and departments implementing grants from HQ. The hub will provide operational grants management and finance support to implementing units in DK Integration, Department for Strategy, Programme and Learning (SPL) and The Stand-By Roster.

About the job

In the Shared Support Hub we support a wide range of programmatic teams with finance and grants management tasks. So, if you’re eager to learn about our different programmes and learn a broad variety of skills, this is the position for you. Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Daily posting of journal entries and other ad-hoc bookkeeping tasks
  • Assist with budget preparation – project budgets, master budget and annual budgets
  • Ensure data and transactions are properly recorded and entered into the accounting system
  • Assist with annual and project audits
  • Support units with resource scheduling in DRC Dynamics (assigning resources to the correct projects and budget lines)
  • Support with improving procedures and processes though the use of various tools (Excel, Excel Bi, PowerBI)

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to be willing to learn and eager to find areas of improvement. Moreover, we also expect the following:

Required

  • Sound understanding of international bookkeeping standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software, including Excel is a must.
  • Full professional English proficiency

Desirable

  • Experience with accounting and/or ERP-systems is an advantage.
  • Proficiency with using Business Intelligence and Power Bi is an advantage.
  • Danish language proficiency

Contract length: Permanent

Workplace: Borgergade 10, 3. th., Copenhagen

Start date: 1 July 2024
