Manager, Systems Integrations

Summary Description

The Ford Foundation’s Information Technology department seeks a Manager, Systems Integrations to join their team. The Manager collaborates closely with the Senior Manager, Integrations and Reporting to supervise all the integrations between applications in the Foundation’s IT environment.

With both conceptual and practical knowledge, the Manager can introduce fresh perspectives to solutions and drive impactful improvement in integrations. This role primarily involves collaborating with users and other teams on defining and implementing integration for user cases. The incumbent will be tasked with analyzing and contributing to guide decision-making in user scenarios and business flows. During this process, they are responsible for translating business use cases for orchestration between SaaS systems into technical specifications, anticipating technical challenges, defining deliverables and timelines, and guiding developers in configuring or developing integrations based on specifications.

The Manager is accountable for monitoring daily operations and ensuring data quality resulting from integrations. This role also collaborates with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to ensure the quality of integrations. With expert understanding of business data and processes, they will create consolidated program milestones, interdependencies, development and delivery plans and coordinate efforts of internal process owners and subject matter experts.

Responsibilities, include but not limited to:

  • Lead development and maintenance of both standard and custom integrations that facilitate data exchange across different systems in the foundation
  • Possess strong knowledge in integrations, particularly with Workday, and capability to comprehend and translate integration business requirements, transform them into technical specifications and develop designs in alignment with the specifications
  • Propose and present solutions to stakeholders to secure consensus and to guarantee the seamless progress of the project
  • Work with business owners and related vendors to jointly set the priority for requirement and tasks to ensure the completion of project in a timely manner
  • Manages a team of consultant technical resources in the design, development, release, and maintenance of integrations and optimize existing ones in line with process architecture
  • Coordinate with different application teams, vendors and clients to explain complex scenarios, recommend solutions, and ensure the data in data warehouse serves all business needs
  • Investigate data issues and manage engineers to resolve the them, ensuring data integrity and consistency across all sources
  • Explore and research new integration technologies and methodologies to enhance integrations
  • Collaborate with the Operations Team in the development of SOP and the improvement of the knowledge base, aiming to achieve a “first call resolution” for integration issues reported to the Help Desk
  • Liaise with key stakeholders across the Foundation to prioritize and resolve integration issues
  • For escalated integration issues, ensure the steps taken for resolution is documented in ticket tracking system
  • Develop and update technical documentation of data flow between systems & data warehouse related changes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems or a related discipline, or equivalent and equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, including experience in data integration and experience with access and usage of relational databases
  • Expertise in analyzing business requirements
  • Broad knowledge of data management principles
  • Proven track record of leveraging technology solutions to deliver on projects

  • Expert with integration platform, such as Boomi, MuleSoft, and other similar platforms
  • Experience connecting cloud systems
  • Expert in working with various APIs
  • Experience with iterative development methodologies (Prototyping, Agile)
  • Expert in SQL Server, C#, Python, T-SQL, Ruby and JSON, Workday Studio

Physical Requirements
This position is primarily a sedentary role. However, the person in this position may need to occasionally move about inside the office to liaise with internal staff, access files, office machinery and a copy machine/printer.

Salary: The Ford Foundation is committed to practicing salary transparency. The minimum salary for this position is $109,000 and the maximum is $127,000. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of this range. The final offer is determined by a candidate’s relevant experience and our commitment to internal equity. We review global compensation on a regular basis to ensure market competitiveness and equity. The hiring range for this position has been carefully crafted in alignment with the market.

Location: This position is based in the foundation’s New York office. We operate in a hybrid model and require staff to be in the office three days per week.
