Org. Setting and Reporting
This position is located in the Business and Administrative Solutions Team (BAST) , Information Technology Service (ITS), Division for Management (DM), United Nations Office at Vienna /United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNOV/UNODC), in Vienna, Austria. The incumbent will work under the direct supervision of the Associate Information Systems Officer and the overall guidance of the Programme Management Officer, leading the Team. Responsibilities
Within assigned authority, the incumbent will perform the following specific duties: • Define precise customer requirements by communicating to the user focal points for new administrative applications covering internal administrative workflows and processes and documenting them in a structured specification artifact. • Develop PowerApps and O365 based applications (mainly workflow) using rapid application development approaches, create and maintain PowerBI portals, develop by making use of Power Automate and O365/SharePoint, and working very closely with the customers. • Provide maintenance and support for existing applications and legacy applications including version control, deployment and training. • Write technical documentation for existing and newly developed applications including functional specifications and training material. • Provide hands-on demonstrations/training for end users. • Cooperate with all members of the various ITS teams in UNOV/UNODC on topics of enhancing and improving of development techniques and methodologies. • Take responsibility for the full cycle of software application projects from design to rollout of interconnected software solutions; this includes being responsible from the beginning to the end of a project, involving clients, providing effort estimates, making architectural decisions together with the team lead, implementing and developing software, testing, and maintaining and acting as focal point for clients. • Assist with the collection and analysis of data as well as preparation of data presentations and reports for information sharing, responding to queries, knowledge management, planning and decision making. • Perform other work-related duties as required.

Work Experience
A minimum of seven years of extensive working experience on Software development is required. The minimum number of years of relevant experience is reduced to five for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher. Experience in writing web applications in PowerApps/SharePoint in O365 including Power Automate, is required. Experience in Javascript, HTML and Database Query is desirable. Experience in configuration and administration of Domino servers is desirable.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another United Nations official language is an advantage.
