Who are we?

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) has been providing relief and development services in the Horn of Africa since 1997. Using a protection of human rights framework, DRC has mainly focused on Somalis who are displaced by conflict. Programmers include protection, livelihood, food and NFI distribution, water and sanitation, and advocacy amongst others. DRC Yemen has been providing relief and development services in Yemen since 2008. DRC has mainly focused on refugees and migrants displaced by conflict and natural disasters.

DRC, through its specialized business unit, Danish Demining Group (DDG) aims to recreate a safe environment where people can live without the threat of landmines, unexploded ordinances and small arms and light weapons”. These goals can be effectively advanced through cooperation and joint action with other organization as well as with integration of operations and programs with its sister organization, DRC.

About the Job:

Overall

Responsible for the day-to-day management of the West Coast IT infrastructure, this includes providing technical support by installing and configuring computer systems, diagnose hardware and software faults and solve technical and applications problems.

Working closely with the Supply chain, IT and Admin Teams to ensure smooth and effective assets management activities of the West Coast.

Responsibilities:

  • Install and configure various systems including the operating sys of the laptops, desktop PC’s, servers, network equipment, and software applications and domains.
  • Monitor the internet connection and bandwidth ensuring that Service Level Agreements are adhered to.
  • Troubleshoot internet issues in liaison with the relevant ISP.
  • Safeguard DRC data by using the security policies and procedures and implement a backup and recovery procedure.
  • Monitor and maintain the LAN, Network Servers, Routers, Printers, LAN Points, Switches, Patch panels, Access points, Satellite Modem…to prevent faults from occurring.
  • Perform local, clouds backups as scheduled, and ensure data integrity.
  • Configure and update antivirus.
  • Prepare a monthly ICT report.
  • Register, label and track the procured IT & other Assets and add them to the Assets tracking system.
  • Prepare the Assets List for donor reporting, which includes all the related assets and share them with relevant colleagues.
  • Perform regular controls to ensure the accuracy of monthly Assets & equipment lists.
  • Perform the physical inventory for all WC assets, on quarterly basis and report any findings.
  • Perform the disposal for the unused or expired Asset as per the asset disposal procedure.

About you

To be successful in this role you must have:

Experience and technical competencies:

  • 2 years of experience in similar position with INGO
  • Computer configuration & troubleshooting
  • Experience in configuration & troubleshooting LAN, Routers, Switches, Access points & Satellite Modem
  • Experience in the assets management

Required qualifications:

Education :

  • University or professional degree in information technology, computer systems, or a related field

Languages:

  • English: Excellent
  • Arabic: Fluent

We offer

DRC will offer the successful applicant a contract until December 2024, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work As soon as possible, and be willing and able to work in Mocha.

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment. This position will be placed at Band (H2 Non- Manager) and will be reporting to Support Services TL.
