Introduction :

Country: Home based, Malaysia

 

Description of the Assignment: GMCP of UNODC plans to conduct information gathering exercise on the ground in the border area between North Kalimantan of Indonesia and Sabah of Malaysia. The information collected will also be used internally for GMCP to prioritize works, strategies and design future responses. Furthermore, the information collected will be used to support the Sulu and Celebes Seas Contact Group meeting which meets periodically to discuss current threats in the area, share information and plan join operations when necessary. The Sulu and Celebes Seas Contact Group meeting is a mechanism supported by GMCP involving relevant maritime law enforcement agencies from Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines.

Period of assignment/services: 27 working days from 01 June 2024 – 31 October 2024
