SRI LANKA: FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION SUPPORT ASSISTANT

In Sri Lanka, GGGI is working under the guidance of, and in close collaboration with the Ministry of Environment (MoE). The Ministry of Environment through the Climate Change Secretariat (CCS), as the National Designated Authority (NDA) to the Green Climate Fund (GCF), nominated GGGI to be its delivery partner for the implementation of the GCF National Adaptation Planning Readiness Support (NAPRS) Project; “Strengthen the Process and Capacity of the Implementation of National Adaptation Plan of Sri Lanka”.

OBJECTIVES OF THE ASSIGNMENT

The junior consultant will require to support the Project Team for the smooth and successful implementation of Projects under GGGI Sri Lanka Program.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The ‘ Junior Consultant – Finance and Admin Support Assistant’ consultant shall collaborate with GGGI staff, national and international consultants hired and work under the guidance of the NAP Team Leader. The main responsibilities of the job include but not limited to:

  • Work collaboratively with the Team Leader and team to maximize productivity
  • Assist Senior Project Assistant with project Finance and Administration tasks.
  • Assist with the coordination efforts within the team and with outside consultants efficiently
  • Assist in maintaining up to date files and records of project documentation
  • Assist in providing logistical support to conduct workshops, trainings, and other meetings.
  • Support to coordinate with all necessary vendors and service providers, particularly all those associated with workshops, trainings, and meetings being conducted.
  • Supporting the procurement process with all service providers for workshops (workshop venue, accommodation, transport, food and beverages, translators, comperes for event, photography, projectors, sound systems, digital displays, streamlining services, recording of events).
  • Assist with project related local and international travel arrangements.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

The description of required skills and qualifications may be split into following parts:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, International Development, or any other related field.
  • Excellent skills with Microsoft Word Office, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Good communication skills and ability to clearly communicate in English as well as national languages preferred.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail
  • Ability to solve problems and work under pressure
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
  • Experience in International Organizations, development agencies or non-profit sector would be an advantage.
  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary and multi-sectoral team environment would be an advantage.
  • At least 2 years’ work experience is preferable
ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION

In order to be considered for the position, the candidate must meet the minimum qualification listed above. Consideration and selection will be based on a panel evaluation of the evaluation criteria factor below. Please note that only shortlisted/finalist applicants will be interviewed or contacted. GGGI does not pay for any expenses associated with the interviews unless expenses are pre-authorized. Reference check will be conducted on those candidates selected for an interview. The applicant’s references must be able to provide substantive information about his/her past performance and abilities.

Interview and writing exercise may be requested. Applicants are required to prepare a brief narrative demonstrating aligned with selection criteria factors listed below:

  1. Professional Competency – 30 points;
  2. Experience – 30 points;
  3. Individual Competency – 40 points.

Maximum Points Available: 100

Applicants must also include in their application package as follows:

  1. A cover letter of no more than 3 pages that demonstrates how the candidate’s qualifications meet the work requirements;
  2. A curriculum vitae which, at a minimum, describes education, latest experience and career achievements;
  3. Names, current and accurate contract numbers (email and phone) of three professional references that have knowledge of the applicant’s abilities to perform the duties set forth in the solicitation.
