Logistical and administrative support will be provided by the OHCHR team in Mozambique. 3. Strategy for human rights monitoring in the context of the 2024 general elections developed with the CNDH. 4. Training report submitted, including main outcomes and recommendations for continued capacity-building support to the CNDH.

Duties and Responsibilities

– Develop a module on human rights monitoring for the Mozambique National Human Rights Commission (CNDH). The module should be in Portuguese, based on OHCHR’s Manual on Human Rights Monitoring and other relevant materials, and include a dedicated section on human rights monitoring in the context of elections. – Support OHCHR to prepare and deliver a training on human rights monitoring in the context of elections for the staff of the CNDH in Maputo. – Support the CNDH in developing a human rights monitoring strategy for the 2024 general elections in Mozambique. – Liaise as needed with relevant OHCHR staff in Mozambique, the Regional Office in Southern Africa and OHCHR Headquarters, as well as CNDH staff. – Ensure that gender and inclusion approach are integrated in all areas of work. – Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications/special skills

Advance degree in law, political science, international relations, social sciences or related fields. A first-level university degree in combination with the additional years of qualifying work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advance university degree. 3 years
