Associate Manager ? Carbon Farming

ICRISAT seeks applications from dynamic Indian nationals, for the position of ?Associate Manager ? Carbon Farming? to support activities of Global Research Program on Resilient Farm and Food Systems (GRP-RF&FS). The incumbent will be based at the Headquarter in Patancheru, Telangana and will support RFFS in different R4D projects on regenerative agricultural practices comprising carbon farming and carbon sequestration dynamics. The candidate will report to the Principal Investigator, ICRISAT Development Center, under the research program, Resilient Farm and Food Systems.

Responsibilities:

 � Undertake GHG emission measurements under regenerative landscapes, both on-station and on-farm situation and manage the GHG measurement facilities.

�   Estimate the potential of carbon sequestration and implications on greenhouse gases under different soil- water-crop-livestock management systems.

� Conduct a detailed and rigorous assessment of agricultural management practices with focus on regenerative agriculture.

� Contribute to methods, tools approaches on carbon farming.

� Contribute to capacity development on CSA GHG measurements.

� Support in the data management pertaining to strategic research on regenerative agricultural practices (Living labs), carbon farming and other aspects.

� Support team in project implementation and documentation.

� Any other job that may be assigned by the supervisor from time to time.

 Requirements:

? Master?s degree in plant science / NRM/ Environment Sciences or equivalent

?  At least 5 years of research experience in GHG emission measurements, quantification, and managing instruments.  Also have similar experience in Regenerative Agriculture, Conservation Agriculture etc.

? At least 3 years of research experience in an international organization

? Proven record of scientific excellence in relevant fields

? Good skills in data management and analysis

? Excellent communication skills and team management

General:

This is a contractual position for a period of 36 months.
